The Canada-Germany Interparliamentary Group (CADE)

Vancouver, BC - written December 7th, 2024 - The Canada-Germany Interparliamentary Group (CADE) serves as a pivotal platform for fostering deeper relations between Canada and Germany, two nations linked by strong historical ties, shared values, and a commitment to democratic governance and human rights.

Established to facilitate dialogue and cooperation between the parliaments of Canada and Germany, CADE aims to strengthen legislative collaboration on issues of mutual interest, enhancing diplomatic relations and promoting a deeper understanding between the two countries.

The President is the Hon. Peter M. Boehm, Senator, born in Kitchener and who served as Ambassador to Germany from 2008 to 2012. The Vice Chairs are Hon. David Mark Well, Senator and Maxime Blanchette-Joncas, M.P.

CADE is composed of parliamentarians from both nations who meet regularly to discuss a wide range of topics, including trade, security, environmental policy, and cultural exchanges. One of its key objectives is to address common challenges and explore opportunities for collaboration in areas such as climate change, economic growth, and innovative technologies. Their last meeting was the AGM held April 4^th, 2024.
