Vancouver, BC - February 19, 2025 - The Canadian Technology Accelerator (CTA), managed by Global Affairs Canada’s Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), is launching a new program to support Canadian AI companies in expanding into the UK and German manufacturing markets. This initiative presents a unique opportunity for 8 to 10 high-growth Canadian tech firms specializing in AI-driven solutions to gain market insights, connect with key industry players, and establish business relationships in two of Europe’s most influential manufacturing economies.
Why Germany and the UK?
Germany is a global leader in advanced manufacturing, with key industries such as automotive, mechanical engineering, and robotics heavily investing in AI-driven automation. In fact, a Bitkom survey found that 78% of German industrial companies see AI as crucial for their future competitiveness. The German government is also investing €1.6 billion in AI research and development to position itself as a global leader in this space.
The UK manufacturing sector, valued at $380 billion CAD, employs over 2.7 million people and is rapidly integrating AI to enhance efficiency, agility, and sustainability. With $7.7 billion CAD in government investment announced in 2023, the UK presents a lucrative opportunity for AI-driven innovation.

The CTA program will provide:
