Nashville is gearing up to host a major industry convention next week, underscoring the city’s growing profile as a conference hub. The Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) Annual Conference & Expo runs April 6-10 at the Music City Center and is expected to draw over 6,000 experts, innovators and industry leaders. Billed as the world’s biggest corrosion engineering and materials science event, the expo will feature 600+ hours of technical sessions and a massive trade show floor spanning 300,000 square feet. Organizers say attendees from around the globe will convene in Nashville to share cutting-edge research on infrastructure durability, from pipeline safety to bridge preservation. Local officials are preparing a warm welcome: downtown hotels and restaurants anticipate a bump in business as conference-goers arrive. “Events like this showcase Nashville’s ability to host large-scale professional gatherings,” a Convention & Visitors Corp spokesperson noted. In addition to the core conference, delegates can enjoy evening networking events with a dose of Music City flair. The AMPP expo’s arrival highlights Nashville’s diversification beyond music, as the city attracts conventions in fields ranging from education to technology. (Source: AMPP, Music City Center)
